Have been out of the blogosphere for quite some time. Somehow time management is an issue and 24 hours never seems enough. I wish the sun would slow down or is it the earth that is rotating a bit faster!

Trader colleagues on our network must be enjoying the show on the market. After having closed Jan-Dec 2009 at a hefty premium over the capital invested, we are on to a slow and steady uphill drive, though I must say there have been nailbiting moments for many of you (as per the feedback recd). However, be confident. Tested systems never fail. The Human Mind may fail but a Tested System like THE FINAL CALL®™ never fails.

Enjoy the show and keep buzzing me from time to time, will try to get back to all of you as quickly as possible.

Today happens to be the last trading day for the year as well as the Indian stock exchange Dec settlements.

What a fantastic year that went by. Those who got in the markets at 2009 lows have made a killing.

Our Nifty Futures Fund has delivered a return of more than 200% for the period Jan 2009 to Dec 2009. Our Equity Futures Fund has delivered likewise.

We remain bullish on the markets for 2010 in the long term.
In the medium term we have exited all equity positions and are waiting to reenter if and when the market tanks a bit.
In the short term, we are bearish until next mid week.

I have not been able to post on this blog on a proactive basis due to really bad time management. Nothing or nobody to blame but myself. I have taken too much on my hands than I can service. I am in the process of reorganizing my commitments and hopefully will be able to write regularly on the internet network. Paid customers will continue to receive the same unparalleled service that they have been getting until now. I hope all of you are happy and accumulating health and wealth. At some point in time, try to share what you gained with the less privileged. It has to do more with the common goal rather than the conscience motivator.

Two whipsaws one after the another is a good sign :)

We got whipsawed for the second time on Thursday on longs. We covered longs at a minor loss and went short on Nifty Futures on Thursday and carried them over for the weekend.

We also went short on Reliance Equity Futures as well on Thursday and carried them over for the weekend.

It takes a lot of research to come out with a successful trading system and once the system passes beta testing you just need to stick around with it through thick and thin.

Most traders whether day or positional feed stop losses in the system as a means of capital conservation. It is an established norm that you do not trade in the market without a stop loss. However, it is also an established fact that stop losses more often than not add to the numbers on the debit side of your ledger balance rather than that on the credit side. If you were long today and had a stop fed in the system, it would have got triggered. If you were on the short side today and had a stop fed in the system, again it would have got triggered. :) Tragic isn't it. This is how it works. Volatility kills traders and the trading spirit. The only thing it does is to push out weak hands out of the system.

We had a market today that pushed out all stop losses out of the system as well as all weak hands. It does not seem as if this upmove will last long. However, it is worthwhile waiting to see how long it holds.

We continue holding longs and hope to cover tomorrow before the weekend.

What are we doing?

Nothing!!!

We are just sitting tight and waiting for the bear cavalry to light up the flares. When just about every cynic was dismissing the impending downfall and had been baptized into the bull, the fall came. As with all such falls, it was an external input that triggered it. Honestly speaking the RBI policy that came in did not warrant such a down day at all. The correction was due anyways.

Tomorrow will be the decider day for the bears.

RBI keeps key rates unchanged. However, the tone is hawkish. Markets react.

A final bout of selling at close yesterday should have given a hint of things to come today.

We should be closing shorts today after holding them for a whole long week. Lets wait until closing and plan a strategy for the next settlement.

The shorts just do not seem to get tired of holding out. The bears are out with knives and daggers and what have you, but it is unlikely they will get to drag the index still further down. We hold out on the shorts another day in huge profits. With the long winding run from the 4750s to 5100s, this was bound to come anyways. What next! In another two days, we get to see what pans out for the November settlement.

Not much on US markets. They are a better avoid as of now.

DOT CBI Chidambaram and Karunanidhi

State elections over in three states. All clear!!!

Now the CBI raids one of the goverments own ministries (DOT) on a scam perpetuated a year back. (This is as much quick action that the Goverment of India takes!)

The CBI reports to the Home Ministry.

The Home Ministry is the fiefdom of Chidambaram ( an ex finance minister who was the darling of the stockmarkets).

Chidambaram is elected from Tamil Nadu and very close to the Sonia caucus.

Tamil Nadu is the fiefdom of the DMK (Karunanidhi).

The Telecom Ministry is the fiefdom of Raja, a sepoy of Karunanidhi.

Raja says the PM is party to all decisions taken on spectrum in the ministry.

The Prime Minister is not talking.

Now the CBI has visited many telecom offices, has collected spectrum contract copies (as if it was not available earlier), is scanning visitor passes in DOT for the last three years (ridiculous).

Now are you smart enough to understand the wheels that run within wheels. If you are with me on this, then both of us know that this is a red herring and nothing in hell is going to come out of this facade. Either we are fools, or we are taken to be fools, or we are fooling ourselves!!!

Reliance Industries and Hardy Oil

Way back in June 2009, Hardy Oil released a report quoting gross risked best estimates for D3 and D9, which meant a quadrupling of India's gas production base in the next 5 years.

The Directorate General of Hydrocarbons (DGH) said these claims were not approved by the regulator and Hardy should not have made such a report public without an approval from the DGH.

The Directorate General of Hydrocarbons (DGH) has said that Hardy Oil has gone out of its way to release these estimates and perhaps there is a hidden motive behind it.

The Hardy stock spiked 30% in London!!!

SP Tulsian a leading analyst on Reliance, mentioned "Coming on the gas front, they have started the production, couple of day’s back we had a new that they made more new discoveries. Right now they are producing gas from D6. They made new discoveries in D3 and D9 also which is almost double the estimate of the D6 blocks. So one can imagine the growth coming in from the gas production, maybe the enhance refinery production and they will start making the marketing in the domestic front. Maybe for FY10 they will have EPS of Rs 140 which can keep going up to Rs 200 for FY11. If one can hold it for the next year, maybe till March 10 he/she can expect a price of Rs 3000 of the stock."

Sometime end of October SEBI too got into the act.

Four weeks ago, at the beginning of this month the Directorate General of Hydrocarbons wrote to the Sebi Chairman saying that it suspected unethical disclosures by Hardy Oil which is listed on the London Stock Exchange. It actually went ahead and alleged that these disclosures were being made in an inappropriate manner to influence share prices. Now what we understand from our sources is that Sebi is going to take up this issue with the UK regulator to find out if at all any norms of disclosures have been violated by Hardy Oil.

The entire imbroglio got mired in clarity of global regulatory norms for JVs etc and was forgotten.

Back to the markets today.
Again, Hardy Oil makes a dud disclosure on one of the wells in D9 and the Nifty tanks along with Reliance Industries.

On a day when Europe had opened strong and the Dow had closed earlier on a strong note on good results, Hardy tanked 36% on the London Stock Exchange. Reliance tanks 4% on the Indian exchanges.

Mind you, the entire jingbang on the Hardy board as well as the CEO, COO, CFO are all Indians!!! Hardy holds 10% stake in KG D3/6/9 while RIL holds 90%. While Reliance can conveniently throw its hands in the air and say that they have not made any disclosures and it was the joint venture partner that did so in London, a whole host of doubts arise in the retail investors mind with respect to insider trading!!!

Where does this leave the retail investor? Nowhere!!! Probably insiders in both RIL and Hardys are making hay while retail investors sweat their pockets out.

As I mentioned, way back we have laughed our guts out watching Laurel and Hardy movies. This Hardy was too much to digest!!!

Nothing seems to be working in the markets nowadays. One is reminded of a game of musical chairs!
A bounce in the US markets does not help the Nifty at all or did the KG D9 fiasco spook the Indian markets. It seems to be an overreaction though. One was aware of Laurel and Hardy until now, but Reliance and Hardy was too much to digest!!!

The Nifty is back to yesterday's close and, hopefully, Monday through Thursday settlement week will decide the Nifty Futures Future.

We had planned to cover shorts if the Nifty were to hold the opening gains today; however, the Nifty did not oblige. We continue with our shorts in profits and rework a strategy on Monday.

The Dow opens strong on a day and is in the dumps the next day. What a pity. As of writing it is struggling to bounce back from oversold levels. Microsoft's good Q3 showing does not help at all. Somehow, one is forced to draw an analogy between the Nifty (struggling to hold 5k) and the Dow (struggling to hold 10k). Lets await the Dow's closing today. We hold nothing on the US markets as of now.

The whipsaw did not happen yesterday and the bears lived another day. There is going to be a lot of volatility going forward and intraday traders are likely to be caught in a bind if they don't place their bets and stoploss judiciously.

A final burst of selling pulled down the Nifty below a significant level that could set the trend for the rest of the settlement as well as the coming one. While liquidity has been the primary catalyst that jump started the global rally, it looks as though it would like to take a little rest going forward.
We continue holding shorts on the Nifty Futures and probably look forward to squaring up most probably tomorrow or on the last trading day of the week.

The US Indices look like they are going to cool off by close. We do not hold any open positions there.

Voila!!! The Yankees bounce back! A massive whipsaw on the Dow and S&P. The Bulls are back on Wall street. Its buy for the short tem.

What impact this can have on the Indian indices? For starters not much, but coupled with some cabinet decisions on divestment and investment taken on a market holiday, one could expect a similar whipsaw back home!!!

A very happy and joyous Diwali to all.

I have been preoccupied since last weekend with matters appearing too flimsy at the crust; however, hot at the core. Reminds me of the huge piece of rock that we inhabit. This seemingly inanimate piece of rock takes in all the shit (literally) from us, and yet can take more and more without flinching. We continue to have little respect for this home that we inhabit, yet we persist in erecting and decorating marvels for our own private pleasures knowing well that it takes just a fraction of friction beneath the earths crust to knock off all these marvels!

A frenzy of Diwali noise and light greets me as I write. The air has suddenly become too chemical, not that it was any great before the sound and light erupted. Having just gotten back to civilization after a week or more, ones olfactory instincts immediately go into spectrometric analysis of the air that was and the air that is now. The gases that exist around our planet should be billions of eons old, yet they are so fresh and exotically scented in and around civilization that is not yet polluted by cement and steel. As you pass through this virgin land, one is presented with an aroma of scents that keeps refreshing at every turn and every corner. You can even smell the water that drips down from the thick vegetation above in the forests as well as the aroma of water that is locked up in huge earthen dams around these forests. It is mother nature at its original best. The need to appreciate the goodness of life is the very food that kindles the instinct to survive and if one survives but has never appreciated the goodness of life, then one has survived in vain only to bite the dust!

Coming back to our wealth management setups, the past three weeks in this settlement had ones patience tested to the limits. The Nifty just oscillated 100 points up and down 5K doing nothing good to anybody in the bargain. It was a lackluster muhurat trading day today and Udayan rightly called it symbolic. However, we have taken short positions today on the Nifty Futures and the setup does look bearish on a weekly scale. Monday is a holiday and we relook our setup on Tuesday. No Equity positions.

US markets and other global markets look all set to cool off, and if they do, this will trigger a healthy correction on the Sensex and Nifty too. We hold no positions on the US markets.

However, again, India is already in a bull market and the correction would be just the usual bull market corrections and not deep enough to warrant panic or trigger liquidation of portfolios. This position would invalidate itself in the event of a global catastrophe.

Excellent bearish setups! As Rakesh Jhunjhunwala says, on a day to day basis we are coupled with global markets; however, over a larger perspective, we are decoupled. He goes on to add, once upon a time the sensex was 3000 and the Dow was 10,000. Today the Dow is 10,000 and the Sensex is 17,000. As the depression unfolds in the US, we need to catch up on how it will affect our day to day lives. Lets hope, we survive!

Something is just not right! One gets the feeling that there is something going on that is just not right, and I have been having this feeling not just today but since the last four trading days. There is some funny stuff going on out there that just does not add up. In fact, nobody is getting it right. Lets just wait one day, Friday, and then decide how we spend the weekend,

This is the fourth night that we are sleeping with shorts on Nifty Futures. If the Nifty does not oblige tomorrow, we reverse positions.

I have been busy with some engagements the entire day and possibly there seems to be some followup that needs to be followed up through the weekend until the mid of next week. Regular updates on positions will be given as usual; however, the virtual world gets the boot for a few days. Hope everybody has a good Friday and a swinging weekend!

PRE MARKET
The Bull needs the gap up today, but will it come? We are positionally short, and as I mentioned yesterday likely to be whipsawed on the razor sharp horns of the bulls! Give in or fight? Do I smell a faint tinge of an aroma of biased bearishness somewhere deep in my nasal folds! Well, one needs to be careful not to fall into the trap of swimming against the tide. As somebody said, I forget who it was "Truth often becomes distorted when emotions are involved. Depending on the environment (positive or negative) at the time, the same event may cause different emotions."

The Dow charged back again last night like the proverbial Knight in Shining Armor battling in vain The Curse of Dow10K. The SGX is trading marginally up sideways. HK is up, Japan is up, China is in suspended animation since a few days (probably a hangover of the 60th anniversary celebrations).

Amidst the volley of opinions, there is but one common thread, the fear of DOOM! The other side, however, is desperately trying to propagate the hope of a gradual recovery, which is just what is titillating the markets into defying Newton's law of gravity. There is, but without doubt, a motivated global cartel with a vested interest in trying to hold the sinking economies of the developed world above the perilous seas, that is at work in a crafty and devious manner.

Economist Nouriel Roubini mentioned yesterday the global recession is coming to an end; however, the recovery will be anemic

"Make no mistake that whatever top we put here or there will be the top leading to the apocalyptic times in financial markets which will eventually force true socioeconomic reforms across the globe and change governments that committed this financial suicide. Such as United States of America, which altered the basic structures of capitalist economy at the expense of your future, to produce this greatest sucker rally of all times.
Those chosen financial dinosaurs that engineered this mess in the first place are now saved and their stocks are trading near all time highs. Until they are gone, this will never end. Unfortunately history proved that their influence in politics will cost us more than a regular deflationary bear cycle, or even a depression. It will unfortunately take greater degree shock to remove these black-holes from the system... and when they are gone, they will probably take their supporters with them.......This gigantic sucker rally off the March lows which retraced little more than 38% of the entire drop is about to be over and more importantly, FED / Treasury is now out of ammo unless they open new printing facilities to speed up the process. IF they do however, inevitable bankruptcy of US government will be much sooner as we and they also know - Atilla Demiray."

Back home, people are more charitable and circumspect with their alphabets. The doomsdayers have been around since Nifty 4750 multiple tops, most have been toasted and fried on both ends, some are still holding on to each other by the scruff of each other's necks.

Amidst all this cacophony, the charge of the global ticker brigade continues. By this Friday, one should be able to get a hint of where this is leading us to. Patience pays!

POST MARKET & US MARKETS
The Dow has just opened on a negative tick and is trading flat, which is understandable. The last two days upmove has been too fast and a corrective trend is fine. Yet, I keep bumping into gloom doom news on the virtual screen. Here are some excerpts:

"If you throw a ball into the air, it has to slow down before it comes down. The market does not exactly follow the laws of physics, but its action does seem to reflect this one. Somehow, deep in the recesses of one's subconscious backups, one still refuses to accept this gloom doom theory propagated by analysts. Whether it is naivety or the contra-contrarian view calling, one will know only after the dice has been tossed. Not many a trader remains who has not seen the brash power of sheer tsunamic liquidity wiping off sell orders from the screens in flashes of nanoseconds as well as the power that goverments in cahoots with big business wields. Yes, the ball has to fall (no spherical body or otherwise has had the gumption to defy Sir Issac Newton as of now). The thing is when will it fall. The price-time continuum that analysts (due credit to them) try to predict has become too complex in today's markets and have a nasty habit of tripping the best of this tribe at the most unexpected of moments.

A sensible voice amidst all this cacophony is from Sudarshan Sukhani - "A dip is the correction of the main trend."

The last two days have tested the trading community's patience to the last dime in their pockets. Having emerged from the roller coaster and having paused to take a deep breath of polluted city air, you get freebies thrown into your face by none other than you know who!!! What the 1:1 from RIL bodes for the opening bell tomorrow looks like a foregone conclusion. What remains to be seen is whether the enemy lines are overrun and ground positions held or there is a ceasefire and we retreat back to home ground.

PRE MARKET
The Dow has had a decent pullback yesterday on the back of some good service sector numbers. Invariably, it seems the sell off on Friday was too steep and Newtons second law of motion took effect on the Dow. We were on the sidelines yesterday and will remain on the sidelines until the infamous "Gods Hand" shows up with a clear trend.

Surprisingly, even though the Nifty and the Sensex drifted downwards yesterday, there is still some strength in the Nifty as long as it is able to hold the 5k zone albeit though by a hair's breadth. We reversed positions yesterday and are short on Nifty Futures. Hold until this position is updated.

No Equity Future positions due to lack of clarity.

POST MARKET
A simple V shaped trading day. You start at A fall down to Z and then climb back to A. Of course, a day trader's paradise. For the positional trader, patience tested to the edges of the universe. As of penning this post, the Dow is up with huge gains and India should expect to shake off the 5080 resistance levels at opening tomorrow.

While the entire month of Sept 09 one saw consistent FII buying, surprisingly Oct 09 has seen institutions selling. Data suggests today's pullback could be the short covering kind. In any case, if the Nifty reaches the 5100 to 5150 band tomorrow, the positional short trade would end in a whipsaw. Infy's Friday results would clear a bit of air.

Gold peaks, Oil up, Dollar hammered. Australia hikes interest rates, RBI likely to follow. BSE reduces transaction charges. Finance minister hints at letting tightly promoter held companies to go public in a phased manner. Boeing in trouble. OPEC to go with dollar on oil trade. Not that any of this news matters. Global markets are moving in tandem and there seems to be a definite pattern that seems to be unfolding. Time will tell.

PRE MARKET
While many traders are expecting a blip in the Indian markets starting today, it is most likely that the market will wipe the smug smile off their faces. The US markets, dynamic that they are with all the reports coming out on a daily basis, were anyway looking downside from a short term (3 day) point of view. We will start our short term downside with the Q2 results. For the time being, longs still carry some spunk.

Asia has opened resilient today in spite of the Dow being weak overnight. The SGX Nifty is looking downwards; however, should recover as Indian markets open.

If you watch global markets carefully, you will see the infamous Maradona's "Gods Hand." Who are the Gods is a matter of conjecture, but there is no doubt that these hands manage global markets very skillfully.

POST MARKET

Expected correction in Indian markets. The Nifty has not been able to break the 5080 resistance levels since quite a few sessions. A retreat was due. We covered our longs of last week at minor profit and have taken up short positions on the Nifty Futures. No positions on any Equity Futures due to lack of clarity.

The Dow is precariously poised at make or break levels, and even with the modest up tick as of noon, it does not appear that this bear rally will pummel forth. PRE MARKET
What a frustrating day for many traders on the US markets yesterday!
The Dow recovers 9700s at close, a good sign for holding longs, though one should expect a shift in trend by this weekend or early next week. It is still a bear market rally in the US.

Shanghai bucks the trend in Asia. This index has gained up to 100% in Aug 09 since its lows in Nov 08 and has retreated 20% since then.

SGX has opened a little weaker which does not mean much because it will anyway follow the NSE Nifty later in the day.

However, it is nearing time to book positional (2 to 5 day) longs unless markets show too strong a momentum.

Indian markets have just about completed a 100% gain since the lows of Oct 08. A likely retreat is likely, most likely sometime in between the Q2 result season.

The Dow Futures has broken down into sell territory. A slew of economic reports are awaited today and tomorrow as well as the Feds testimony on financial regulation. Oil slides. The dollar gains. We will await the numbers and then decide on our next positional trade on the Dow.

The FTSE has also moved into sell territory and should recover above 5100 if it were to give a contrary signal.

P&L REPORTS UPDATED FOR THE WEEK

Profit and loss reports for the week ended Sept 25, 2009 have been uploaded and you can download them by just clicking on the links above..

The week that went by saw a rise in the corpus of The Nifty Futures Fund by INR 2802/per lot of Nifty Futures and of The Equity Futures Fund by INR 9398/per lot of Equity Futures. This works out to a return of 20.23% per month and 242.84% per annum on a corpus of INR 60,000 per lot of Nifty Futures, and a return of 33.93% per month and 407.22% per annum on a corpus of INR 1,20,000 per lot of Equity Futures.

The report presents the half yearly performance figures for financial year 2009-10.
The report also summarizes monthly profits from April 09 to Sept 09 as well as the average performance per month and per annum.

The Nifty Futures Fund has realized a return of 19.82% per month and 237.82% per annum.
The Equity Futures Fund has realized a return of 19.37% per month and 232.49% per annum.

While some months have given us bumper profits, there have been months with negative returns too which is fine by the law of averages. In sum, an annual performance of 100% return on the corpus employed would be our target.

Our focus on Equity Futures has mainly been Reliance, mainly because of the volumes and the interest this stock generates amongst the trading fraternity as well as its weightage in the Nifty Index and of course the hedging possibilities with the Nifty. Sheer time constraints have bogged me down from venturing into the other Nifty 50 stocks at the present moment. The time and energy invested in being able to generate profitable calls on just the Index and one of the Index movers is stupendous and there are just not enough energy reserves available to even look into the other trading possibilities. Though, I am currently doing exhaustive research on the Dow Futures and possibly we might set up a Dow Futures Fund too commencing Oct 09.

As I sign off, I see the Dow on a steep upswing as expected and tweeted sometime ago. This brings good cheer for the traders out here in India and I am sure most of them would enjoy a sound night's sleep on the back of this pleasant outcome.

The article goes on to define different types of personalities in the stock market and what they do and what the liberated stock trader should be doing. A must read.

To get back to our markets, many of you would remember the mayhem in Jan 2008. Sentiment was gung ho and there were not many caution notices put out. Nine out of ten people in the market were busy trying to figure out what to do with the enormous amount of liquidity that had poured into their pockets as well as how much the Anil Ambani IPO would fetch them on listing. The market CRASHED!!!

Coming back to the Sept of 2009, one finds too many Caution stickers all around. If you happen to be in the trading circuit, it is more than likely that you must have heard the doom tale from nine out of every ten people that you bump into. Possibly, as they say, once bitten twice shy. Public memory is short but not so short as to forget the wounds of a year and a half back. Many a trader bit the dust, some never to rise again.

I must say as I have been maintaining that the day we found support at 3900 sometime mid July 2009 and pulled back to scale new highs we entered a new phase of the Bull Market. Yes, we are in a bull run. Many expected the markets to fill gaps that were left post the UPA victory. However, not all gaps are filled immediately. Surely we will get back to those gaps (should a catastrophic event take place) but not in the near future.

There was a time when sentiment moved markets. Today liquidity moves markets. Money needs to make more money and if it does not then there is a huge price to pay, one has no business to be in the financial markets. Targets are too steep and extraordinary and demand innovative strategies. The number of retail participants has increased manifold. Markets have become more complex and simple tools do not seem to work.

Coming to the Delinking Theory, yes, we are figuratively delinked from the US markets, however, not so macro economically. The US markets are still in a bear rally and until the Dow scales 10800 (this is the figure as of now and is likely to change as time passes) with great momentum, it will still be a bear rally out there in the Americas. The action had shifted elsewhere long ago!!!

Fed holds interest rates. The Dow stages a sell off at close. The Dow has been moving classically in line with the Nifty since last Friday. The Dow needs to move firmly above 10800 for a sustained bull market to commence in the US. This rally is clearly a bear market rally as of now.

However, Indian markets are clearly in a bull market rally.

Asian markets have opened on a weak note with only the Nikkei 225 bucking the trend.
SGX Nifty trading lower.

The net buy in the cash market was offset by the huge net sell off in the Index and Stock Futures Derivative side particularly towards the close. The entire exercise suggests institutions adjusting their hedges.

The settlement is likely to close between 4900 and 5000 today without any significant trend setting moves.

Hope all you are enjoying your weekend pastimes. If not, you still have one more day to go before you hit the ticker. Go out there and make the best of it. Trading is a professional high energy consuming activity. For most, it is emotional too (though this is definitely a negative attribute).

Its pitch dark out here at my weekend retreat, it is cool and pleasant though, and the air is full of oxygen (as much as you can take it in). I can hear all kinds of sounds out there, I thought I heard a leopard growling somewhere nearby or was it the thunder! It was a leopard, the dogs are suddenly sulking and have retreated into a safe corner with their tails between their legs. One of them is already yelping faintly.

The week that went by was quite eventful. Much to the chagrin and consternation of all, the market belied all hopes of coming back from where it started. The 5K levels were touched on the Nifty. It, however, looks as though this is still a bear market rally and a pull down is on the cards, timeline difficult to pinpoint.

Our P&L REPORT/P&L REPORT for THE NIFTY FUTURES FUND and THE EQUITY FUTURES FUND are updated.

This week we turned in a profit of INR 3225 per lot of Nifty Futures and a profit of INR 6840 per lot of Equity Futures. This translates into a total profit of INR 10065 on a capital of INR 1,80,000, an effective return of 291.56% per annum or 24.29% per month. The greater the capital employed, more the number of lots traded, greater the profits in terms of INR.

Our current positions carried forward from last week is as follows:
Short on Nifty Futures multiple lots at 4978.
No positions in Equity Futures.
Updates on Tuesday. (Monday is a market holiday).

Will the juggernaut halt and take a breather or will it rumble forward? Anybody's guess. (If you were an alert reader, you might have noticed that I used the words just "halt" and "breather" and "forward.") Have I missed the word that suggests the opposite of all that is said above? :)

A lot of wave counts are being touted that suggests anything but clarity on what the Nifty might do today or few days from now. Polls are being conducted over different forums which are not at all clear.

Short positions have upped since the Nifty touched 5K yesterday and of course some longs have squared up.
In the juggernaut's daily menu, Reliance Industries could be the dark horse today and if this is so then the Nifty will make smart decider moves today, particularly, at the close. If not, expect it to be tossed from here to there to end up where it was.

There is a tweet about consumer refinancing company Aiful applying for debt relief procedures in Japan. On the back of this news, Asia has opened up a bit weak today while even the Dow Futures suggests a weak opening as of now. Europe will be somewhere in between both.

We are long on the Nifty at 4467 since yesterday at close. Updates will be posted today.
We do not hold any Equity Futures as of now.

An Interesting Turn

The entire last week was spent by hordes of investors, traders, analysts in dishing out ominous warnings all over the horizon. While most of them waited for the impending fall, others stayed put out of the market hoping to go short and cash on the downswing. There were a few, however, yet biding their time on the long side though they were few and feeble. The Lehman anniversary dominated international news events to add fuel to the fire.

Those trying to dig out bad news dug themselves in bad while those that kept a watch on the ticker survived another day. Though there was a strong breakout today on the upside yet marketmen remain cautious. We, however, ride the trend. It is a pity that the market remains an enigma to most. THE FINAL CALL®™ gave a trendchanging move today.

We were short on Nifty Futures since last Friday at 4882. We covered today at 4902 and went long at the same price booking a loss of 20 points. However, we are still short on Reliance Futures at 2150 since last Friday.

The P&L Reports for both Nifty Futures and Equity Futures is updated.

The week that went by gave us a net earning of INR 30,000 on a lot of Reliance Futures and INR 5,000 on a lot of Nifty futures on a capital of INR 1,20,000 and INR 60,000 respectively. Stupendous returns. Of course Reliance was the game changer and in turn the Nifty too gave us positive returns.

The law of averages is very clear. You cannot be right all the time. However, what is important is how you manage the right trades right and how you manage the wrong trades right. It does not matter if your strike rate is 70:30 or 60:40 on the losing side. It so happens that if you catch the trends correctly your low strike rate of right trades will give you more profit than the high strike rate of wrong trades and the net is always on the positive side. Of course it is dedicated and devoted adherence to the prophecy of THE FINAL CALL®™ that can help you achieve this.

This is the second fund to be set up in this series after The Nifty Futures Fund. The first Equity Future to go on the block was Reliance Futures.

One may ask why after market hours. Simple. Have you noticed the amount of information that floats around on the internet on the stockmarkets. It seems as though every second living being from the human species on this planet is neck deep in the stockmarkets.

There are websites spouting numbers, calls, predictions and of course the blah blah on performance and profits, etc. However, none of these websites provide any evidence on performance.

Then there are forums where you will bump across so called experts, seniors, and analysts who seem to be doing nothing but hang around in these forums 24 x 7 x 365 spouting the same things that I mentioned earlier. None, I repeat, none has ever recorded any evidence on their peformance for public perusal.

The profit making calls are always pom pommed. The loss making calls just slink away silently without a whimper.

There are a slew of Business Channels on cable these days and each has their own set of experts/analysts live with trading strategies and comments on these strategies. None, I repeat, none of them ever have presented a record of their performance ever and any query on the same is brushed aside with a swish of the arm and a haughty snigger. I wish the business channels themselves take a proactive step and make it mandatory for these deities to prove their performance.

With due respect to all analysts and experts in the market, nobody doubts your knowledge and grasp on the subject. You are the deities in the markets. No doubt on that score. But, you are not the God in the Market!!! If analysts could predict the market accurately, they would be in the Fortune 500s. This is simple logic. Does not require much thought. However, sometimes the obvious does not even appear in the mind's scanner and what is actually a mirage looms large as reality bang in front of the eyeballs.

The ticker in the market reflects the net sum total of emotion, sentiment, and the call (heads or tails/buy or sell) of all minds that put their money where their mind is. I term this THE FINAL CALL®™. What will be THE FINAL CALL®™ today? None knows. There is no way of knowing. Or is there....?

THE NIFTY FUTURES FUND

On April 1, 2009 (the first day of the current financial year), The Nifty Futures Fund started its operations to trade exclusively only in Nifty Futures. A capital of INR Sixty Thousand was assigned to each lot of Nifty Futures and traded with different brokerage firms. The trades were executed as per a predefined patented system researched, developed, owned by myself - "THE FINAL CALL®™"

This fund has turned in a return of approximately INR 58,000 for every INR 60,000 allotted to each lot of Nifty Futures as on Aug 31, 2009, which gives an annualized return of 232% or a monthly return of 19.33% not seen in any organized financial sector Index fund until today!!!

If your eyes are popping out of your sockets and your ears flapping out of your skull, I do not blame you. Unbelievable isnt it.
